WXLV-TV and WMYV-TV are currently seeking an intern interested in the fields of marketing, communications, research, and/or sales. As an intern, you will work directly in the sales, marketing, and research departments to help our sales team achieve success with clients. Students will learn to help local businesses advertise effectively by learning the day to day operations of broadcast television and digital advertising.

If you are studying in a related field and want to experience the fast paced world of broadcast television, WXLV and WMYV is the place to learn! This is an unpaid internship. Applicants must be a college Junior or Senior. This internship must be coordinated with the student's respective college or university for academic credit under the sponsorship of the educational faculty. This internship will be for the Fall 2016 semester. Each intern is required to work 10 - 20 hours a week and must have reliable transportation.

Duties include:

  • General office tasks
  • Media research (track demographics and trend television programs)
  • Organizing sales events
  • creating sales presentations
  • Pulling research to support sales pitches
  • Accompanying AE's on sales calls
  • Recommend marketing strategies for clients
  • Provide input on sales promotions

Skills:

  • Candidates should be able to work with a variety of people
  • Be well organized
  • Computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint are a must

If contacted you will also be required to submit two (2) work samples such as writing projects or presentations (these can be graded class assignments or published work).
