We’re looking for a top-notch reporter to cover our health and education beats. The ideal candidate will be someone with a proven ability to craft clear, concise stories on deadline and a bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field. At least two year's experience at a daily or weekly newspaper is preferred, but recent graduates with strong clips are encouraged to apply.

The New Era is one of two family-owned daily newspapers in Kentucky. Our offices are 10 miles from Fort Campbell, Ky., home of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and an hour's drive from Nashville, Tenn., to the south and Evansville, Ind., to the north. The region offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities, including the U.S. Forest Service’s Land Between the Lakes recreation area to our west. We also consistently finish among the best mid-size newspapers at the Kentucky Press Association's annual awards ceremony.

To apply for this position, email a cover letter explaining why you’re the right person for the job along with your resume, references and at least three writing samples to Editor Eli Pace at No phone calls please.
