The Elkhart Truth, a 20,000-circulation daily newspaper in northern Indiana, is seeking a talented visual journalist to work as a page designer. The successful candidate is just as comfortable crafting a stunning Page A1 presentation as knocking out inside pages and advance sections.

On our newspaper layout team, you’ll be the champion of what appears in our printed product and how it’s presented. You’ll work with other designers and editors to plan and execute the newspaper while collaborating with our real-time news desk to make sure copy and photos are edited and processed in a timely manner. You’ll need to have sound news judgment to make decisions on deadline as news breaks, and you’ll need a sharp eye to proof pages and line-edit stories on the fly. The ability to create basic and advanced infographics is a plus.

The Truth Publishing Company is a family-owned company where we inform, educate and serve the community through local news and product innovation. Our core products include The Elkhart Truth daily newspaper,,, three-hour radio show and a growing number of digital publications.

Elkhart is located between Chicago, Indianapolis and Detroit, and is home to a rejuvenated downtown, a budding arts scene, craft breweries and the second-largest county fair (we're gunning for you, Orange County). We’re also within an hour’s drive of the beaches of Lake Michigan, multiple wineries, Warren Dunes State Park, tons of recreational activities and a football team named the Fighting Irish.

Send a cover letter, resume and up to six clips--or a link to your online portfolio--to digital director Ryan Martin at
