Air Force Magazine is looking for a Senior Editor to work full-time in the magazine’s Arlington, Va., office.
The authoritative source for news and insight on the U.S. Air Force, airpower, strategy, operations, people, and technology, Air Force Magazine is published by the Air Force Association, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, and fully independent of the U.S. Air Force.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for news; knowledge and experience covering the Air Force and in particular military space and cyber; interest in emerging technologies and national security; and the ability to write both long and short form. We’re looking for a journalist who sees over the horizon and sees the stories today that readers will want to read tomorrow. If you enjoy breaking and making news, digging into complicated topics and explaining them in plain English, this is the job for you.
The successful candidate will be able to produce timely breaking news for our Daily Report and easily pivot to write deeply reported long-form articles for our magazine. We seek a self-starter and team player who is intensely curious and eager to learn more every day. Occasional travel required, and more frequent travel is possible.

This is a salaried, non-contract position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
