Are you a reporter who likes variety?
The Moline Dispatch-Argus/Quad-City Times seeks a dynamic reporter to cover the suburban Quad-Cities. This beat will include municipal coverage, but also will tell the stories of the people, places and ideas that unite and divide us as a riverfront region of about 450,000 along the Illinois-Iowa border.
We need a reporter who can connect with people and hone in on what matters to our communities, and tell those stories online, in print and through video and social media. You will be able to craft daily stories and features with narrative flair and produce enterprise stories that separate us from our TV competition.
We’d prefer candidates with proven newsroom experience, but recent college graduates with strong clips will be considered. We welcome diversity in our newsroom.
This reporter will join an experienced news team a newsroom shared by our Illinois-focused outlet, the Moline Dispatch-Argus and our Iowa-focused outlet, the Quad-City Times.
The Quad-Cities is a fun place to live and work, with all the amenities of a big city – pro sports, big-name concerts, food and culture – without the traffic and high cost of living.
Applications must include a resume, cover letter and at least five writing examples.
We offer full benefits including Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, 401(k), generous paid time off, and life insurance.
