Description:

McNaughton is looking for a part-time web producer to help promote our news and other information across a variety of media including web, newsletters, podcasts, event and directory listings, video and social media. The creative but deadline-focused job is a great opportunity to have a positive impact and do what you love.

The applicant should have an editor's nose for news, a designer's eye for design layout and a marketer's brains for distribution success. The candidate should be able to write, shoot and produce timely, relevant and interesting local information, as well as work with other creators to amplify their work. CSS, HTML and content management experience is required. A journalist is preferred. Experience with the Adobe CC suite of tools -- including Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, Premiere and InDesign -- is a plus.

The part-time job will work primarily with the Davis Enterprise, from the Davis branch office in downtown Davis, but remote candidates are welcomed to apply. The wage is $15/hour and the expected workload is about 3 days a week, or 24 hours per week. The job applicant must be as dynamic as the opportunity itself. The work entails weekly tasks like content wrangling, archival research, writing and copywriting, event promotion, website quality assurance and multimedia production such as podcasts and short videos.

The Davis Enterprise is part of McNaughton, a family-owned chain of small media companies. For more information about the job opportunity, email your resume and links to at least three pieces of creative work to publisher Taylor Buley at taylor.buley@mcnaughton.media. McNaughton is an equal opportunity employer and applicants will be considered without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
