The Taos News is looking for a full-time Ad Production Manager for a 10,000-circulation, family-owned weekly newspaper located in beautiful Taos, New Mexico. In 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 The Taos News was voted the best weekly newspaper in the United States by the National Newspaper Association.

The PRODUCTION MANAGER is responsible for overseeing the conception to completion workflow of ads for the weekly newspaper, website and special sections and is expected to create high quality, accurate and creative artwork in a timely manner for a variety of print and digital projects. This person works closely with the Creative Director, Advertising Director and Media Specialists in a full-time production environment.
Organized and level-headed under pressure, good written/verbal communication skills, and meeting daily deadlines are essential qualities of this full-time position. Pagination experience in a newspaper environment is a huge plus.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field 
  • 3+years experience in graphic design or newspaper environment preferred
  • Highly proficient in Adobe InDesign,  Illustrator,  Photoshop
  • A working knowledge of print production, Postscript and PDF workflows.
  • Knowledge of photography, web press and sheet fed printing, and on-site press check
  • Experience with HTML/CSS and CMS platforms


  • Oversee the production of ads for the weekly newspaper and special sections.
  • Design advertisements for print and digital media
  • Design magazine editorial spreads throughout yearMeet deadlines for daily, weekly and monthly workflowsCollaborate with Media Specialists to produce effective advertisements that meet the needs of the clients
