The Washington Times is seeking a General Assignment Reporter to cover a broad range of topics from local news to national political events, trends, features and personalities. This position also has a focus on health issues and social trends including demographic trends as well as political and regulatory developments, demographic shifts and “values issues.”  A strong, fast writer who can quickly file stories to the website and then develop them to give the newspaper’s readers additional insight is mandatory. Travel, evening, weekend and holiday hours may be required.

The ideal candidate will have earned a bachelor’s degree and have two to four years news reporting experience. Experience covering health and social issues is a plus. The ability to write clean and concise copy and to meet daily digital and print deadlines is a must.
