The Los Angeles Times is looking for an editor to guide our coverage of the ever-expanding world of television, from breaking industry news to the wider cultural impact of what we watch and how we watch it. The television editor oversees news and enterprise stories, festival coverage and, of course, awards season, from the Emmys to the Oscars.

Candidates should have a deep familiarity with and understanding of television as an industry and a cultural force, several years of management experience and the ability to think both on the granular and bird's-eye level. The television editor should be able to articulate reasonable ways for our coverage to evolve on multiple platforms, finding new forms of storytelling while also bringing greater focus and depth to our report. Applicants should have at least 10 years’ experience. This is a Los Angeles Times Guild position.

Qualified candidates should submit a resume, cover letter and applicable work samples to deputy managing editor Julia Turner at

Note: If you previously applied, there's no need to do so again. We're continuing to evaluate candidates and renewed the job posting while we do so.
