Metro has several openings for investigative reporters.

The successful candidates will have extensive experience in deep accountability journalism, long-form projects as well as the ability to jump on shorter-term, off-the-news digging when needed. We are looking for sharp critical thinkers who can generate their own ideas and have established track records of producing the best public-service journalism. An ability to write clearly and with authority is also essential.

These reporters will be part of our growing investigative team and should be prepared to juggle solo assignments while also collaborating with other reporters, data journalists, digital editors and graphics specialists. The prime focus of the team is to produce agenda-setting journalism, with a focus on issues of vital interest to California – one of The Times' top priorities moving forward.

These positions are included in the Los Angeles Times Guild.
