Looking for a reporting job that will take you from education policy to the governor’s office to environmental regulations all in one day?

MIRS News is hiring a full-time administrative reporter in Lansing, Michigan. As a subscription-based state capitol publication, we’re looking for qualified candidates with a passion for delving into public policy issues and a nose for news.

The administrative correspondent is charged with covering the executive branch, including department level commissions. But when nobody’s meeting, in-depth stories on the most pressing topics of the day or emerging issues are on tap.

Our audience is comprised of some of the most policy-savvy folks around: interest groups, lobbyists and lawmakers. They’re people who know and care about policy issues ranging from complete overhauls to daily minutiae. MIRS has been consistently voted by Lansing insiders as having the best capitol coverage.

A small, collaborative newsroom atmosphere will have you up to speed and on the best assignments in no time, with plenty of latitude to seek out the stories that matter.
