Description:
Courthouse News, a California-based legal news service, is seeking a full-time reporter to cover civil court filings and proceedings in Iowa. A legal background is not required, but demonstrated interest and ability in journalism are necessary.
The job will entail reviewing and summarizing new civil lawsuits filed throughout Iowa every weekday. The reporter will also be expected to pitch and write nationally targeted news and feature stories covering law, politics, the environment and other area news. Competitive pay is offered for 30-40 hours per week, and benefits are available.
Applicants should live in or near Des Moines, and have reliable transportation.
