Publishers: Buy the building, get the newspaper!

Our community newspaper in Southern Minnesota is in danger of closing due to being short-staffed. The business and building have been for sale, and now we're ready to say if you buy the building, we'll throw in the newspaper for free. 

Located in Mapleton, Minn. this paper needs a dedicated reporter and editor (one person working more or less full time) to keep it running. Everything else is basically in place, the publisher/editor just isn't able to give this paper what it needs and we'd hate to see it close. 

- The building just had $75k worth of work put into completely replacing the roof and is in good condition overall. The front half would make a great coffee shop (something the community really wants and doesn't have) and the newspaper could continue to operate out of the back.

- Mapleton is located only 20 minutes from all the amenities of Mankato. 

- The paper is owned by a local couple who are available to help with the transition (and one is happy to stay on as the Ad Sales Rep if desired by the new owner).
