The coordinator's sound journalistic principles and mastery of audio
storytelling and production will help us produce compelling narratives that
appeal to our listeners. We aim to produce two seasons a year (spring and

UofM faculty in teaching a course once a year that contributes to the
podcast’s production.
- Supervise
students and interns assigned to the podcast.
- Produce
audio stories and episodes using professional editing software to ensure
clarity, accuracy and seamless storytelling.

About the Institute for Public Service Reporting
We’re an independent, nonprofit investigative newsroom on
the campus of the University of Memphis with a dual mission — increasing the
quality and quantity of investigative reporting in the Memphis area while
mentoring the next generation of journalists. Our staff of professional
journalists are university employees, but we maintain a firewall protecting our
editorial content from university or state control. We work closely with the
university’s Department of Journalism and Strategic Media. Our benefits are
paid by the university but our salaries and news operations are externally
funded via private donations. Continued employment is contingent on available
funding.
