Executive Director, The Concord Bridge

Position Overview

The Concord Bridge, an award-winning news nonprofit organization serving the Concord community since 2022, is seeking an experienced and collaborative Executive Director to lead our organization into its next phase of growth and impact.

The Bridge connects Concordians with the local news that matters to them through a weekly print newspaper delivered free to Concord residences and businesses and through its digital site.  The Bridge also reflects the uniqueness of the literary, cultural, and social history of the town of Concord in America.

This is a rare opportunity to build on a strong foundation: strengthening the organization, broadening community support, diversifying revenue, and helping ensure that high-quality local reporting remains accessible to everyone.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be the organization’s senior leader and public face. The ED will lead strategy, fundraising and revenue development, organizational and financial management, community engagement, and Board partnership, while supporting an environment in which editorial leaders can produce rigorous, independent, community-focused journalism.

·         The ED will work closely with the Board of Directors on organizational goals, policies, governance, and long-range planning.

·         The ED will lead the organization’s fundraising and revenue strategy, creating annual and long-term plans that strengthen fiscal sustainability and expanding a diverse donor base of individuals, businesses, foundations, and community partners.

Requirements

·         Extensive and demonstrated leadership and experience in non-profit management

·         A successful track record in nonprofit fundraising and revenue development, including the ability to inspire support from individuals, foundations, businesses, and community stakeholders.

·         Experience with journalism or news organizations and a deep commitment to a free press, journalistic independence, ethics, and high-quality local reporting.

·         A collaborative leadership style and the ability to earn trust, inspire staff and Board members, and engage people across the community.

·         Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the presence and passion to represent the Bridge publicly and persuasively.

Salary range $100,000-$120,000 with benefits.
