Description:
Central Missouri Newspapers, Inc. Commercial Printing is
seeking a Mailroom Manager who steps up, takes pride in the work, and leads the
team from the front. You’ll be on your feet, working alongside the team,
keeping jobs moving, and handling whatever the day throws at you.
Here’s what the job looks like:
- Lead, train, and support mailroom staff across all
shifts
- Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and hold
the team accountable
- Match people and equipment to daily and weekly
production needs
- Jump in and run production equipment as needed
- Foster a positive work environment built on teamwork,
reliability, and pride
- Spot workflow problems and equipment issues before they
slow us down
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, speed, and waste
reduction
- Assign staff to inserting, finishing, addressing,
sorting, packaging, and other tasks to meet deadlines and customer specs
- Oversee production documentation, insert counts, and
labeling for accuracy
- Keep an eye on the floor, adjusting staffing and
workflow as needs change
- Make sure finished products are properly labeled,
packaged, and ready for shipping
- Train new hires on equipment, safety, and quality
standards
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and
coordinate repairs when needed
- Ensure regular cleaning and maintenance tasks get done
- Keep the department organized and ready for customer
tours
- Monitor supplies like inkjet ink, strapping, labels,
and finishing materials
- Investigate quality issues, missed deadlines, or
shortages, and put fixes in place
- Support company policies and safety practices
- Pitch in on improvement projects around the facility
- Get certified to train forklift operators and keep
staff up to date
- Work with temp agencies and help interview permanent
candidates
- Supervise truck drivers and delivery scheduling
- Stay in close communication with your team and
management
You’ll fit right in if:
- Experience supervising in a production, mailroom, or
manufacturing setting
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Solid mechanical skills and comfort troubleshooting
machines
- Ability to juggle priorities and deadlines without
missing a beat
- Clear communicator and highly organized
- Willing to work flexible hours when needed
- Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to get
certified)
- Familiarity with equipment like GMA SLS 1000, 1372
inserters, Kirk-Rudy, Muller Martini, inkjet addressing systems, and
forklifts is a big plus
