Description:

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s online team is seeking a Multimedia Producer for arkansasonline.com. This role is responsible for shooting, editing, and producing video and photo assignments for the Democrat-Gazette’s website and social media channels. The position also contributes to long- and short-form multimedia projects on a variety of topics and may occasionally write stories for publication.

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic candidate with a strong background in video and comfortably with technology. This person will also assist with digital publishing processes for the Democrat-Gazette’s website and work closely with newsroom staff to generate multimedia content.

Responsibilities

●      Shoot, edit, and produce video and photo content for digital platforms

●      Assist with digital publishing workflows

●      Collaborate with reporters, editors and photographers

●      Work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment

●      Be available for regular night and weekend work as needed

Qualifications

●      Background in video and photo journalism

●      Expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially Premiere Pro and Photoshop

●      Experience with Photo Mechanic a plus

●      Strong knowledge of Associated Press style

●      Excellent English-language skills, including grammar and spelling

●      Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines in a newsroom setting

●      Comfortable with technology and digital content production

A degree in journalism or a related field is desired with at least one (1) year of experience. Two (2) years experience, preferably at a daily newspaper or television station, may be substituted in lieu of a college degree.

This is a safety-sensitive position. A candidate must pass a drug screening, have a driving record that meets requirements set in the “Personal Vehicle Used for Company Business” policy and must be fully vaccinated by date of hire.
