The Starkville Daily News is looking for an enthusiastic Community News Reporter to cover the people, events, schools, businesses, sports, and local government that make Starkville unique.
Responsibilities Include:
- Covering community events and local meetings
- Writing news and feature stories
- Taking photographs at events
- Interviewing community members
- Helping keep our readers informed about what matters most
- Page design and layout
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Enjoys talking with people
- Has strong writing and communication skills
- Is organized and dependable
- Can meet deadlines
Previous journalism experience is a plus—but not necessary. We will train the right person with a positive attitude and a passion for community journalism.
