Description:

Local News Now is seeking a go-getting, detail-oriented and audience-focused reporter for ARLnow, our flagship local news publication in Northern Virginia.

The reporter will cover a variety of stories, primarily local business and breaking news. Job responsibilities include reporting, photography, and the recording and editing of Reels for publication on Facebook and Instagram.

We greatly value previous reporting experience, but will consider recent college graduates with a demonstrated track record of professional-level work. Prior local knowledge of the D.C. area is also preferred, as is knowledge of how to use Wordpress, Slack, Notion, and multimedia tools.

This is a full-time, salaried position with health, dental and vision benefits. 

Our nine-person team lives locally and works a mix of hybrid and mostly-remote schedules. This position is expected to work from our office in the Ballston neighborhood of Arlington three days per week, for collaboration and proximity to the coverage area. Parking will be provided for those with a car.
