Description:
Reporter – New Orleans politics
The Times-Picayune has an opening for one of the best beats
around: covering the public officials, civic leaders and other bastions of
political power in New Orleans.
Politics in the Crescent City are dagger sharp and always
interesting. We’re looking for an experienced reporter who can navigate the
city’s centers of power and the personalities who control them. The goal is to
tell great stories about how politics – and the fight for political power –
impact the everyday lives of New Orleanians.
The city’s passionate politics are an outgrowth of its
unique culture, neighborhoods and people. It also has a locally owned,
Pulitzer-Prize winning media company that’s served readers for nearly two
centuries. The Times-Picayune and our website, NOLA.com, offer distinctive,
impactful journalism every day, produced by a team of journalists with decades
of experience covering south Louisiana.
The company is an equal opportunity employer, committed to
recruiting, developing, and promoting a diverse workforce while providing
unique opportunities and career paths for our employees. We encourage
applicants of all backgrounds and experience levels to apply.
This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package that includes medical, vision and dental insurance, short term disability, long term disability and a 401K plan.
