Description:
The Due South Producer creates and produces content for Due South, WUNC’s daily news and public affairs program, which includes interviews, analysis, and features on a variety of subjects (news, politics, culture, etc.) of interest in North Carolina.
Primary responsibilities for this position include selecting and researching show topics, pre-interviewing and booking guests, writing scripts and promotional materials, and editing audio recordings for broadcasts. The Due South Producer will also create content for digital and social media platforms, participate in fundraising activities and station events, may occasionally fill-in for the Executive Producer, and other duties as assigned.
The Due South Producer reports to the Executive Producer and works in collaboration with the co-hosts and producer colleagues. The team will actively work to ensure that a diversity of stories and participants are selected for production, and that our content is relevant and accessible to diverse audiences.

The Due South Producer will be an experienced broadcaster with strong production and communication skills and have a passion for creating compelling conversation, analysis, and storytelling.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of radio broadcasting equipment and digital editing programs preferred
• Experience with public radio or related not-for-profit fundraising preferred
• Experience as an audio producer on a broadcast show or podcast in public media preferred
