Description:

The Bentonville Bulletin is hiring a full-time reporter to help expand our local government, growth and business coverage.

Few places are growing and transforming as quickly as Bentonville.

Today, Bentonville has about 63,000 residents. City leaders estimate the population could reach nearly 200,000 by 2050.

We’re looking for a curious, resourceful reporter to help locals understand what all of this growth means for them.

Initially, you’ll work alongside our founder to get a feel for the kind of coverage we produce, then start pitching and pursuing your own story ideas.

Local governments, businesses and other organizations no longer have to rely on news organizations in order to communicate with the public. In fact, in Bentonville, several influential organizations have platforms with greater reach than ours.

Our job is to go beyond what they choose to announce, digging deeper and adding context so readers have the full picture of what’s happening in their community.

The starting salary for this position is $50,000, with some room for negotiation. The position also includes three weeks of paid time off.

This is an in-person job in Bentonville, with flexibility to work from home some days.

The successful candidate will likely have at least two to three years of professional reporting experience, although all are welcome to apply. Photography skills are a plus.
