Description:

Wells Media Group Inc. is seeking a full-time reporter to work remote in the U.S. to cover the property/casualty insurance industry. 

Responsibilities:

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:

• Write regular news analyses and features.

• Write breaking news stories for Wells Media Group publications including Carrier Management, Claims Journal and Insurance Journal.

• Develop a deep understanding of the property/casualty industry 

• Develop and pitch story ideas.

• Attend industry conferences and events, with some domestic travel, as needed.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ full-time, professional reporting experience.

• Demonstrated reporting and writing skills.

• Strong writing and analytical skills.

• Must be a self-starter.

• Experience working in a B2B environment.

• Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely.

• Demonstrated ability to generate story ideas.

• Demonstrated ability to develop sources.

• Daily reporting experience preferred.

• Knowledge of the insurance sector a plus.

• Experience working virtually in a team environment.

• As this is a remote position, time management skills are a necessity to achieve a healthy work/life balance and strong work ethic.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and/or relevant business experience.

• Qualified candidates will be asked to submit recent samples of their work and may be asked to submit test assignments.

• Remote Position (some domestic travel may be required).

Bonus Skills:

• Knowledge of insurance carriers, brokers, agents, claims organizations, insurtech organizations, and/or insurance regulatory environment.

• Experience moderating panels, conducting on-camera interviews, or representing a publication at industry events.

• Experience in social, podcasts and new media formats.

• Experience web content management systems (WordPress or other) and SEO/AEO understanding.
