Description:
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is seeking a reporter whose stories hit harder than an All-American linebacker. We want a reporter to deliver powerful enterprise and investigative journalism on the Southeastern Conference and the University of Arkansas. We want stories that grab attention and rattle institutions across the most powerful collegiate sports conference in the country.
This is a job for someone who craves challenges because there are plenty of them. We want to dig into the impact of NIL and the House settlement, explain how big money is transforming collegiate athletics and show who’s cashing in and how. We want the stories behind the games that show us what it all really means. We want to be the leader in serious reporting on Arkansas athletics and the SEC, and this position is key to the effort.
If you are smart, driven, have clips to show you can do the kind of work we’re seeking and you have the curiosity and fighting spirit that are at the heart of great reporting, we want to hear from you.
Send a cover letter with three samples of your best enterprise work to Arkansas Democrat-Gazette Executive Editor Lee Wolverton at lwolverton@adgnewsroom.com. The subject line should read: Sports Enterprise Reporter. Work samples should include links and pdfs or Word files showing full text.
