Description:
The Herald-Dispatch, located in Huntington, West Virginia, is seeking a news reporter.
This is a full-time, in-person position. Full benefits and generous PTO are included.
In this role, you will be responsible for keeping readers in the Tri-State region informed about the issues that affect their daily lives. This includes coverage of education, breaking news and local courts. As a member of a small-but-dedicated newsroom, you will also be expected to pick up occasional general assignment stories as directed.
At The Herald-Dispatch, we prioritize digital news coverage and a digital-first approach to content delivery. As such, experience operating on tight deadlines and an understanding of SEO best practices are crucial skills for this position.
This role is a great opportunity for veteran journalists as well as those looking to establish themselves in the industry. Experience (even that at the college level) is required.
To apply, send a cover letter (not to exceed 250 words) and resume to Editor Lauren McGill at lmcgill@hdmediallc.com.
