Medical Reviewer, Epoch Health

The Epoch Times is seeking a medical reviewer to ensure the accuracy and credibility of our Health’s content. In this role, you will review articles, studies, illustrations, and other materials to verify medical accuracy.

The main content requiring medical review includes our science-heavy reporting and weekly Essential Guides—comprehensive guides on diseases, foods, and other health topics.

The ideal candidate can ensure that each article is both medically accurate and up to date, while appealing and accessible to a general audience.

Responsibilities:

• Fact-check all sources and claims to ensure that content in body text, illustrations, and infographics accurately reflects primary sources, and that cited sources are credible and high-quality.
  
  

• For essential guides specifically, ensure the end guide is based on the best available sources and covers essential information, including the latest and emerging findings, major mechanisms, and both conventional and integrative approaches.
  
  

• Write clear, actionable editing notes and suggest higher-quality or more up-to-date sources when necessary.
  
  

• Ensure information is organized in a clear hierarchy.
  
  

• Collaborate with editors, writers, and designers to ensure the final product is appealing and accessible for a broad audience.

• Meet review deadlines without compromising quality.

Qualifications:

• Medical degree, with proven knowledge of a wide range of diseases

• Proven ability to understand research papers well

• Ability to find and evaluate sources for both conventional and integrative medical practice without bias

• Additional background or knowledge in integrative medicine is preferred

• Collaborative and able to maintain quality and accuracy without being overly rigid
