Description:

D CEO is seeking a digitally savvy Audience Engagement Editor to help grow, engage, and retain our community of business leaders across digital, email, events, and membership experiences.

This role is primarily responsible for packaging and distributing the broader D CEO team’s editorial content across digital platforms, producing newsletters, optimizing stories for search, social, and on-site engagement, and using audience insights to inform content and audience growth strategies. The Audience Engagement Editor ensures D CEO’s content is timely, accurate, discoverable, and aligned with audience growth, engagement, and retention goals.

In addition to distributing and promoting D CEO content, this role will write stories spotlighting key business leaders and trends and identify opportunities to create content in new formats (audio, video, interactives). A smaller portion of the role will focus on community engagement responsibilities such as supporting reader events, member experiences, audience feedback initiatives, and relationship-building efforts that strengthen connections between D CEO and its most loyal readers.

The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, digitally savvy content creator, and natural relationship builder who is comfortable engaging with audiences both online and in person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, write, and manage the delivery of our daily/weekly newsletters.
  • Oversee, curate, and schedule content across our primary social channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram) to amplify brand visibility and journalist authority.
  • Optimize content using SEO and AEO best practices to reinforce D CEO’s authority in the North Texas business community.

Community Engagement

  • Partner with editorial, marketing, and events teams to develop member-focused virtual and in-person events.
  • Foster a sense of belonging among members across digital and in-person touchpoints.
  • Help execute programs that encourage audience participation, conversation, and feedback.

Audience Analytics & Performance Optimization

  • Monitor daily traffic and engagement metrics [e.g., using Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Google Search Console, Marfeel, etc.] to provide actionable insights to the editorial team and inform programming decisions.
  • Optimize content production, programming strategy, and distribution tactics based on performance data.
  • Communicate key insights and performance trends to editorial leadership.

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in digital publishing, audience development, or editorial operations.
  • Proficiency with analytics platforms and WordPress
  • Strong editorial judgment and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of SEO and interest in learning AEO strategies, social engagement best practices, and local media trends.
  • Comfortable balancing creativity with data-informed decision-making.
  • Design, video and/or photography skills are a plus.

Work/Life

  • Competitive compensation plan
