Description:
Courthouse News Service, a California-based legal news service, is seeking a reporter to cover civil court filings in and around Quebec City. A legal background is not required, but demonstrated interest and ability in journalism is necessary.
The job will entail visiting the Quebec City Superior Courthouse every weekday to review and summarize new civil lawsuits. The reporter will also be expected to review and summarize appellate court rulings on a daily basis, and will be encouraged to pitch and write nationally targeted news and feature stories covering law, politics, the environment, culture and other general topics in and around Quebec City. Competitive pay is offered for 20+ hours per week. Some benefits are available.
