Description:
Telemundo 48 / NBC Bay Area is looking for a driven,
fast-thinking freelance Multiplatform Content Producer to work high-impact,
short-term assignments across broadcast, digital, streaming, and social
platforms.
This is an exciting opportunity for a newsroom pro who
thrives in a live, fast-paced environment and knows how to tell powerful,
timely stories that connect with diverse Bay Area audiences. We’re seeking
someone who is not only editorially sharp and adaptable but also fluent in
Spanish (spoken and written) to serve our bilingual community effectively.
What You’ll Do
- Create,
write, and produce compelling content for newscasts, digital platforms,
and streaming channels (including FAST).
- Craft
original stories in multiple formats (VO, VO/SOT, PKG) with speed and
accuracy.
- Build
eye-catching graphics, banners, and visual elements that enhance
storytelling.
- Pivot
quickly to cover breaking news and evolving editorial priorities.
- Coordinate
scripts, video, and graphics to deliver seamless, high-quality content.
- Edit
video and ensure all content meets the highest standards of accuracy and
clarity.
- Track
and manage newsroom materials for use across platforms.
- Collaborate
closely with producers, reporters, anchors, assignment editors, and
digital teams.
- Produce
and adapt content for social platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook,
and X.
- Step
in to support newsroom operations as a producer when needed.
What You Bring:
- Proven
experience in broadcast news production.
- Strong
editorial judgment and a deep understanding of newsroom standards.
- Experience
creating engaging content across digital and social platforms.
- Ability
to work quickly, accurately, and calmly under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity
with nonlinear editing systems and modern production workflows.
- Strong
technical and computer skills, including multimedia file handling.
- Solid
knowledge of Bay Area and Northern/Central California news.
- Fluent
in Spanish (both written and spoken) and English is required.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- A Bachelor’s
degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience
creating culturally relevant content for bilingual audiences.
- A
collaborative mindset with a flexible, positive approach to teamwork.
Freelance Details
- This
is a freelance/independent contractor role (not staff).
- Assignments
are based on newsroom needs, and flexibility is key.
- Shifts
may include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work
is primarily on-site in the San Jose / Bay Area newsroom.
- Must
have independent authorization to work in the U.S.
