About Orato 

Having published nearly three thousand stories at orato.world, we are a global newsroom dedicated to reporting first-person news stories — current events and breaking stories which includes the verifiable, life-changing experience of a real human and reflects history in the making. 

Based on an ever changing world when one can no longer distinguish the difference between fact or fiction, having recently resumed publishing new content, we only publish truthful stories from real people.  

We engage experienced journalists to interview who, similar to ghost-writers, tell the stories from eyeever-changingwitnesses, victims, heroes and whistle-blowers and those whose voices need to be heard, in their own heartfelt words. 

We publish the stories, in both, the written-word and by incorporating them in a new, yet-to-be-released podcast production series with the specific goal of reaching the largest and geographically widest audience possible, at the moment, only in English and Spanish.

About You 

Are an experienced, freelance podcast producer, capable of using our pre-recorded interviews and turning them into vignettes to create a compelling professionally hosted podcast production.

Have the required equipment, software, and production skills to convert raw interview material, multimedia assets, adding editorial narrative and delivering the most infectious and entertaining must-see/listen podcast production. 

Are well organized and can maintain a consistently high-degree of production quality and deliver the podcast production on time.

Are inspired to reveal the human-qualities and threads which (only) we possess and summon in those critical moments when we find ourselves in life-changing events from those who have sustained and survived (often) a traumatic experience.  

Are passionate about only what’s best for humanity in all that you do. 

Are self-motivated, enjoy working remotely. 

What You'll Do 

• Support Orato's mission of amplifying only those verified first-person stories and voices in all the produced content.

• Manage scheduling, project timelines, and day-to-day workflow to ensure podcasts are produced in the highest quality and completed on time.

• Own the quality control of assigned episodes and the workflow for publishing across all our platforms.

• Conduct real-time and post-production fact-checking, in partnership with our Lead Editor and associated producers.

• Ensure audio quality meets professional standards, including editing, pacing, sound levels, and overall listener experience. 

• Prepare all ad-assets for hosts and video editors, ensuring quality control for ad-reads and ad-placement in episodes.

• Handle sensitive stories with professionalism, empathy, and respect for contributors, hosts and their experiences.

• Create and manage short-form clips in partnership with your professional colleagues, identifying strong moments for distribution.

• Ensuring quality control, preparing them for distribution, and coordinating rollout and platform presence.

• Write show copy, titles, and thumbnail text—support thumbnail production as needed.

• Monitor distribution across platforms, flag issues, and ensure content is published correctly and on schedule.

• Support audience growth and promotion strategies in partnership with the Lead Editor and your professional colleagues.

What You Bring 

• 4-6 years of experience in digital media production, at least two years working with podcasts or audio content.

• A track record of managing production and distribution workflows from start to finish.

• Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex workflows and competing priorities.

• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere, Audacity, Audition, Riverside, Descript, or similar production tools.

• Experience publishing podcasts across major platforms including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, and other distribution channels. 

• Experience creating video podcasts and short-form social content is an important asset.

• Ability to work  in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines.

• Strong editorial judgement.

• A deep interest in human stories and truthful experiences. 

• Clear, proactive communication skills and a team-first attitude.
