Assistant Editor/Reporter wanted F/T for award-winning chain of 9 Queens weekly newspapers and website. The candidate should be an aggressive news gatherer, organized, who enjoys talking to people and working in an energetic newsroom, and is able to come up with story ideas. Duties include writing breaking stories for the Web, posting to social media, overseeing a print edition focused on Southeast Queens and covering both general news stories and entertainment. Must be able to write 6-8 stories a week on tight deadlines. Car preferred. Knowledge of Jamaica-Hollis-Queens Village area a plus. NYC resident or immediate surrounding area a must!
