Description:

The Parlor Magazine is seeking a skilled Post Production Fellow to join our multimedia team. This is a hands-on production role for someone who wants to build real experience across video, podcast, and visual design in a living feminist newsroom.

About The Parlor The Parlor is an independent intersectional feminist publication covering identity, power, land, and community — with contributors from around the world. We are building out our multimedia presence and need someone who can help us do it properly.

What is the Post Production Fellowship? This is a rolling fellowship for someone with intermediate to advanced video editing skills who wants to apply their craft to journalism and cultural storytelling. You will work directly with the founding team to produce and refine our video and podcast output, and contribute to developing The Parlor's visual design language across multimedia.

Fellows will:

  • Edit video content for publication across digital platforms
  • Handle podcast post production — editing, mixing, and preparing episodes for release
  • Contribute to the development of The Parlor's design language for multimedia and social content
  • Work closely with the editorial team to ensure production quality matches our editorial voice
  • Participate in monthly newsroom sessions and community calls

What we're looking for:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in DaVinci Resolve — this is a firm requirement
  • Experience in podcast post production (editing, mixing, audio cleanup)
  • An eye for design and visual storytelling
  • Someone recently graduated or with equivalent independent experience
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate proactively
  • Alignment with feminist, anticolonial values

Time commitment: Approximately 10–15 hours per week

A note on compensation: This is an unpaid fellowship. We are transparent about this because our politics demand it.

What fellows receive in return:

  • One-on-one mentorship from the founding team
  • Participation in community calls and special learning opportunities
  • Print bylines and production credits in an internationally distributed publication
  • Letters of recommendation
  • The opportunity to help shape the multimedia identity of a growing independent feminist publication from the ground up
  • First consideration for paid opportunities as The Parlor grows

We are accepting a maximium of 2 fellows for this role. This is an ongoing open call with no deadline.
