Description:
In August, the lights nearly went out on community journalism in Wyoming. Thanks to a new locally owned partnership, the Torrington Telegram is alive again – and we’re building for the future.
We are seeking a news editor to lead our newsroom in Torrington. This is a hands-on role: writing stories, shooting photographs, mentoring a small but dedicated staff, and shaping the coverage that keeps Goshen County informed and connected.
What You’ll Do:
- Report on schools, government, courts, businesses, and community life
- Shoot photos that capture the spirit of Goshen County
- Edit and mentor a small, committed newsroom staff
- Work closely with publishers who are invested in Wyoming’s future
- Uphold the values of local, independent journalism
Who You Are:
- A strong writer and storyteller with a nose for news
- Comfortable juggling reporting, editing, and photography
- A leader who thrives in a collaborative, small-team environment
- Passionate about local journalism and the role it plays in civic life
What We Offer:
- The chance to be part of a fresh start for Wyoming journalism
- Support from owners and colleagues who live and work in Wyoming
- Competitive compensation and the opportunity to grow with us
- The satisfaction of making a real difference in your community
