Description:
The Charleston Gazette-Mail is seeking a news reporter.
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Charleston, West Virginia. Full benefits and generous PTO are included.
In this role, you will be responsible for keeping readers in West Virginia's Capital City informed about the issues that affect their daily lives. This may include coverage of education, politics, breaking news and local courts. As a member of a small-but-dedicated newsroom, you will also be expected to pick up occasional general assignment stories as directed by an editor.
At The Gazette-Mail, we prioritize digital news coverage and a digital-first approach to content delivery. As such, experience operating on tight deadlines and an understanding of SEO best practices are crucial skills for this position.
This role is a great opportunity for veteran journalists as well as those looking to establish themselves in the industry. Experience (even that at the college level) is required.
