The Morton County News Journal in  Mandan, ND is looking for a full-time reporter who is passionate about covering LOCAL news. If you have an eye for finding story ideas, enjoy visiting with people and telling their story, then this position is for you. Because we are a weekly publication, we have the opportunity to cover a wide variety of stories and events. No two days in the newspaper are ever the same. 

The Morton County News Journal is one of 7 locally owned papers that make up the GS Publishing, LLC family in the SW portion of North Dakota.  With a circulation of just over 1,000 we are growing that circulation every day by reporting the local news the people of Morton County want and need as well as recording their history.

The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has experience in writing, reporting, photography, is a strong advocate for newspapers, can work independently as well as with a team and is curious to learn more about the community they are covering. Coverage would include county commission, city council, school board, feature stories, business stories, sports, and special community events. Candidate must also have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

This is a full-time position with flexible hours. Because we are a small company, we are able to be flexible and believe family always comes first. Start date is immediate.
