Managing Editor

Description:

We are seeking a passionate managing editor for our well-respected bi-weekly community publication. A successful applicant will have excellent writing skills and a passion for delivering compelling local news content. A minimum of 3 to 5 years in the journalism field is required.

Although the publication is bi-weekly, a successful candidate will be required to write multiple stories per week and provide regular postings to our website and digital platforms. A candidate should have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to spot potential news stories and seek out the people with the answers. Strong working knowledge of AP style is also required.

If you are interested in being the lead person for a highly regarded, single town news source, this could be the ideal job for you. This job offers a good amount of flexibility and is definitely not a 9-to-5 office job. Regular attendance in Hopkinton is required to be successful. Photo, video and website skills are a definite plus. This is a rare opportunity as it is only the second time in 25 years this position has been available.
