Description:
Reporter –
New Orleans
The Times-Picayune | nola.com
The Times-Picayune is seeking a general assignment reporter to join our news desk in New Orleans. For this swing-shift role, we’re looking for someone driven to be first and best when big stories break and who will also strive for evocative, surprising enterprise stories in and around New Orleans.
You’ll cover traditional breaking news topics like public safety, weather and city government that often are among our most read. But success means going farther, to find stories no one else is telling about the people shaping our city and region in compelling ways. This role also includes a weekend shift, meaning that sometimes you will be tasked with being the lead reporter on big news as it happens.
The Times-Picayune is New Orleans’ locally owned, Pulitzer-prize winning daily newspaper. Through its website and print edition, it reaches millions of readers each month and is committed to providing the people of south Louisiana with fearless public-service journalism, as it has for nearly two centuries.
The Times-Picayune is an equal employment opportunity employer, committed to recruiting, developing, and promoting a diverse workforce while providing unique opportunities and career paths for our employees. We encourage applicants of all backgrounds and experience levels to apply.
