The Augusta Press, an award-winning digital daily newspaper, seeks an experienced investigative reporter who is skilled at uncovering stories others can't or won't, holding power accountable, and delivering well -sourced, high-impact stories. The Augusta Press just celebrated its fifth year in publication. In time, it has won awards for its use of the Georgia open records laws and its investigative reporting as well as general excellence. Desired skills include data analysis; ability to follow the money so as to how the powerful accountable; and strong writing ability. We are particularly interested in hiring someone with experience as an ethical watchdog on government whose reputation for integrity is unquestionable.

The Augusta Press is located in Augusta, Ga., home of the Master's golf tournament. Augusta is a hidden gem on the banks of the Savanna River. The city offers a significantly lower cost of living (approximately 15 percent lower than the national average), short commutes, and a booming tech industry. Outdoor recreation abounds with Lake Thurmond, the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area, and Phinizy Swamp Nature Park.
