Description:
The Epoch Times is seeking a recent college
graduate or early-career journalist to join our politics reporting team
as a Staff Writer / Junior Reporter. This position is based in our Washington,
DC bureau near Capitol Hill.
In this role, you will cover major political developments
and help inform readers about the most important stories shaping the nation.
This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring journalist to report from the
heart of U.S. politics—attending events, interviewing policymakers and experts,
and developing a strong portfolio of political reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Write
clean, accurate, and engaging articles (approximately 2–3 stories per day)
- Cover
breaking news and anticipate upcoming political events or developments
- Monitor
political news trends and pitch story ideas for daily coverage,
explainers, and features
- Attend
press events and briefings and interview relevant sources, including
policymakers and experts
- Contribute
to clear and timely coverage of major political stories
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s
degree with experience writing about news or politics
- Strong
knowledge of U.S. politics and current political trends
- Ability
to receive and incorporate editorial feedback
- Ability
to work efficiently in a fast-paced news environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree
in journalism, communications, English, or political science
