Description:
The Washington County Enterprise, a weekly newspaper available in print and across multiple digital platforms, seeks an eager sports reporter. Our small newsroom emphasizes reader engagement while having fun and trying new things. This position is primarily responsible for generating sports news and features for three high schools and club sports in Washington County, Neb. The ability to develop strong relationships with coaches and ADs, use a camera for both still shots and simple video, utilize social media for reader interaction, and meet deadlines is essential. The right candidate will be a self-starter who doesn't need assignments handed to him or her. In return, you'll have the opportunity to work for a company that appreciates and recognizes your contributions, and you'll be able to live in the Omaha metro area, which is consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in America. If you're interested, send a cover letter detailing what makes you excited about the opportunity, along with an updated resume and accessible links to no more than five of your best writing samples to Executive Editor and General Manager Kevin Bumgarner at editor@enterprisepub.com
