Job Title: Specialty Publications Editor
Department/Division: Advertising
Reports to: Director of Advertising and Marketing
FLSA Status: Exempt / Salary

Summary
The primary role of the Specialty Publications Editor (SPE) is to conceptualize, develop and implement the content plan for each of our assigned specialty publications and special sections (print and online), including story assignments, copyediting, securing articles, creative elements; working with correspondents, contributors, and other writers; photographers and artists; and writing articles and providing other content for each issue. The SPE will work closely with other Keene Sentinel staff and third-party providers regarding paging, design, and layout for each edition as well as printing, as necessary.
The SPE will also lead in ensuring related online environments, including social media and newsletters, are properly managed and populated, and aligned with company goals.
Responsibilities additionally include effectively managing all associated expenses in alignment with budget.
The Specialty Publications Editor will also serve as a resource and company conduit for subcontractor editors including those for ELF Newsletter, Parent Express, and Monadnock Table.
Our Specialty Publications Editor will be an engaged and enthusiastic champion for our specialty publications with a keen focus on exceeding reader and advertiser needs and taking our products to the next level.

o Company newsletter (bi-monthly)
o Other responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience in specialty publications and/or special section editing.
· Strong background in digital content production and management, including search engine optimization, metrics analysis, social media strategies and digital innovation as well as identifying trending content.
· Creative content development, layout and design experience in print and online required.
· Team player.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Exceptional planning and organizational skills.
· Industry knowledge.
· Interest in event planning.
· Eagerness to learn, continually seeking to improve skills.
· Be considered as a thought-leader in digital/social media content and stays current on digital content trends.
· Position can be both remote and office based.
