Job Description
NCWLIFE and The
Wenatchee World are seeking a Reporter / Multimedia Journalist to join
our award-winning local news team in Wenatchee, Washington.
Craft accurate,
engaging stories across television/video, printed publications, digital and
social platforms in this truly multimedia storytelling role. Work with news
leadership to select, write, fact-check and publish articles. Interact with the
public in developing story leads and articles based on independent research and
news tips.
What You’ll Do
Develop story ideas as assigned or based on leads by
conducting research, investigating and observing. Track your stories for follow ups and important future
advancements on a story.
Produce written and visual assets to enhance the story
across media. Collaborate with the visual team as appropriate.
Produce stories for digital, television/video and printed
publications using proper grammar and following AP style guidelines while also
ensuring they are compelling and professional in style and presentation. Rework
pieces as requested by news leadership and update pieces as needed for ongoing
or developing stories.
Attend station and newspaper sponsored functions and
community events.
What You Bring
Experience as a TV on-air news journalist and know how to
present a news story on the air for a day turn, special report, breaking news,
etc.
Knowledge and
ability to write an article/story for digital or print media of a timely news
event, special report, feature or expanded coverage.
Experience utilizing phone, cameras and mics for video and
audio assets to accompany stories. Demonstrate proficiency with computers,
industry software and apps.
Produce accurate and factual stories with a dedication to
ethics and professionalism.
Experience with social media posting and management.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English
or related. Relevant experience may be substituted.

evening, weekend and holiday assignments possible for breaking news, live

Compensation ranges
from $40,000 - $47,800 depending on skills and experience. Medical, vision,
dental, 401K benefits. Candidates must have a dependable vehicle for
transportation, valid
driver’s license and insurance.
