News Camera Operator - Washington D.C. 


NTD DC Bureau, sister media to The Epoch Times, is seeking a skilled, experienced News Camera Operator to join our Washington, D.C. newsroom. This role works closely with reporters and producers to capture compelling video content for television, streaming, and digital platforms.


You will cover news, both live and recorded, throughout Washington, D.C., including Capitol Hill, the White House, and various federal agencies.

Responsibilities:

• Shoot news events, interviews, and press conferences

• Collaborate with reporters to develop strong visual storytelling

• Operate broadcast-quality camera, lighting, and audio equipment

• Edit video clips as needed for TV and digital use

• Deliver footage quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Apply sound journalistic judgment and ethical standards


Requirements:

• At least 3-5 years of experience as a news camera operator or videographer

• Strong portfolio demonstrating field and newsroom work

• Proficiency with professional camera and production equipment

• Solid understanding of framing, lighting, composition, and audio

• Familiarity with current events and U.S. politics

• Willingness to work flexible hours

• Team-oriented, detail-focused, and comfortable under live TV pressure


Pay Range: $30-$50/per hour
