Description:
Job Title: Senior Financial Editor & Research Partner
Location: Remote
Type: Contract / Retainer / Part Time
The Role
We are looking for a world-class financial editor to work directly with our CEO—a veteran trader—to shape, research, and polish high-level market analysis and opinion pieces.
This is not a standard copy-editing role. You will act as a strategic partner, helping to translate complex trading theses into compelling, rigorous, and widely read articles. You will be part editor, part researcher, and part writing coach.
What You Will Do
· Editorial Partnership: Work one-on-one with the CEO to extract ideas, structure arguments, and refine the narrative voice. You will take rough drafts (or sometimes just bullet points/conversations) and turn them into polished, publishable gold.
· Deep-Dive Research: You will not just check spelling; you will stress-test the thesis. You will be expected to pull historical data, verify market correlations, find supporting charts, and ensure every claim is backed by fact.
· Writing Coaching: You will provide constructive, high-level feedback to help the CEO evolve his own writing style, teaching him how to structure arguments more effectively over time.
· Gatekeeping: You are the final line of defense for accuracy, tone, and compliance before anything goes live.
Who You Are
· A Market Native: You understand the difference between a correction and a bear market. You know what the VIX is, how bond yields impact tech stocks, and you don’t need to Google financial acronyms.
· A Storyteller: You know that data without narrative is boring. You can take a dry concept like "liquidity constraints" and make it engaging.
· Unintimidated: You are comfortable working directly with C-suite executives and have the confidence to push back, ask clarifying questions, and challenge weak arguments.
Requirements
· Elite Experience: 7+ years of experience in financial journalism or equity research.
· Pedigree: Previous editorial experience at a financial publication, such as: Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The Financial Times, The Economist, Reuters, Dow Jones, or Morningstar.
· Research Skills: Proficiency with financial data tools (Bloomberg Terminal, FactSet, or public data sources) is preferred but not required.
· Portfolio: A track record of editing or writing long-form, analytical financial content (opinion pieces, special reports, or deep-dive features).
Why Join Us?
· Work with a CEO who values deep thought and high-quality writing over "clickbait."
· The opportunity to work on complex, intellectual subject matter without the churn of a 24-hour news cycle.
· Generous compensation
