Description:
Video Producer
Manhattan Institute for

and public accountability in California.
The video producer will
work with MI Senior Fellow Christopher F. Rufo and City Journal, MI’s

of waste, fraud, and abuse in the Golden State, working to hold public actors
accountable and preserve the public trust.
In particular, the video

media. He or she will work with on-camera talent and drive the process from
filming to publication, ensuring that content remains in the public eye amid
the 24-hour news cycle. The video producer will also select, edit, and package
video clips for social distribution.
The ideal candidate
thrives in a fast-paced environment, is fluent in social media culture, and
understands the intersection of media, politics, policy, and digital
storytelling.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in video
production and editing.
- Demonstrated ability to generate
smart, compelling content across platforms.
- Experience with social video
production (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, YouTube, etc.)
- Fast, creative, and
self-directed-able to move quickly without sacrificing quality.
- Exceptional team player, works
well across teams and consistently strives to build and maintain trust.
- Deep understanding of public
policy debates and the political/media landscape, with a keen eye for what
breaks through.
- Deep familiarity with MI's
mission and a passion for seeing it through.
Candidates
will be expected to be based in the San Francisco Bay Area, or relocate if
hired.
Benefits
MI offers generous
benefits, including a hybrid work environment, four weeks paid vacation, a
Summer Fridays program, paid paternity/maternity leave, medical and dental
coverage, medical and dependent care FSA, mental health benefits, remote
medicine, paid company cell phone, life insurance, and a 401(k) with a
company-funded match. MI staff also benefit from the opportunity to collaborate
and socialize with prominent scholars in our policy space.
The salary range for this
position is $100,000 to $200,000/year. The salary offered to a candidate will
depend on skills, experience, and education.
