Description:
GlobalPost Media, an online publisher of world news and analysis, is seeking an assistant editor to support the editorial process of our two publications, World Politics Review and GlobalPost. If you’re interested in international journalism and would like to be part of a small team with a big impact, this is the job for you.
The Assistant Editor’s duties will include, but are not limited to:
· Copy editing and fact-checking content published by WPR and GlobalPost
· Preparing and assembling elements of our daily and weekly newsletters
· Formatting and uploading article files to our content management system
· Selecting and sizing photographs to accompany articles
· Monitoring and assessing pitches and submissions
· Handling correspondence with contributors
· Maintaining our contributor database
This position requires at least 2-3 years of relevant editorial experience. The ideal candidate will have solid working experience with digital publishing and newsletter platforms such as WordPress and Beehiiv.
There may also be opportunities to write and edit articles for publication, depending on the individual’s background and subject-matter expertise.
This is currently a remote job, although preference will be given to applicants in the New York City area.
The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $60,000 and the position comes with health insurance benefits.
