Summary:
The Audience Engagement Producer is responsible for projects in all content sections, including news, sports, entertainment, and opinion; they help section editors become more proficient with planning for social media and engagement projects and often take the lead on writing digital plans for region-wide projects.
What you will do:
Lead daily production for branded social channels, newsletters, and push alerts; create tailored content including social video and graphics
Monitor analytics (Google Analytics, Marfeel) to make data-driven decisions on story promotion, site programming, and readership growth
Partner with SCNG editors and national peers on enterprise projects, breaking news, and wire monitoring for video opportunities
Measure digital performance through engagement metrics to develop tactics for building and retaining audience
Train other staffers on innovative digital tools and best practices while ensuring all content adheres to editorial codes of ethics
Use creativity and audience data to manage website programming, ensuring a visually energetic and accurate user experience
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 1+ years of editing/design experience at a news publication, including live event coverage
Strong understanding of X, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and TikTok; expert knowledge of newsletter and push alert strategies
Expert use of publishing and creative tools, including Facebook Business Manager, SocialFlow, Push.ly, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Final Cut Pro
Advanced knowledge of SEO research and ability to translate data from Google Analytics, Marfeel, and Adobe Analytics into actionable strategies
A solid grasp of grammar and ethics, including an understanding of fair use, copyright laws, and social media terms of service
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently or team-wide in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Benefits and Compensation:
The hourly wage is $21 - $24.04. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to geographic location, education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the Company offers eligible employees a variety of benefits including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401k, as well as paid time off and select paid holidays (all benefits are based on eligibility).
