Beat: Community Engagement Reporting

Position:

The Community Engagement Reporter builds strong connections with neighborhoods to elevate underrepresented voices and deepen audience trust. This reporter actively attends community events, monitors grassroots issues, and cultivates relationships with local leaders and residents. They identify emerging concerns, generate story leads directly from the community, and provide context that reflects lived experiences. The role emphasizes transparency, listening, and responsiveness, ensuring coverage is people-focused, solutions-oriented, and reflective of the diverse communities the newsroom serves. The reporter will work on on-air, digital, and social media platforms.

Salary and Benefits: $60,000-65,000

- Health Insurance, including dental and vision

Moving Stipend: $2,500
