Position:

Our readers need deeper, more consistent reporting on local government and public accountability. The new reporter will attend public meetings, track local elections from filings to results, and help produce accessible voter guides and explainers. The chosen candidate will also monitor emergency management, infrastructure, and drought conditions. The reporter will expand watchdog reporting that holds institutions accountable and keeps residents informed about how local decisions shape their future.

Salary and Benefits: Beginning salary will range from $38,000 to $44,000 depending on education and experience

Annual health care stipend of $3,600; two weeks vacation; Simple IRA retirement plan

Moving Stipend: $1,500 moving stipend
