Location: El Paso, Texas

Beat: Watchdog and video journalism on U.S.-Mexico border

Position:

This position requires proficiency in video journalism and an eye for accountability journalism in an area of the country that has seen a major surge in immigration detention and federal dollars for border enforcement under changes in U.S. policy. This reporter will cover breaking news in a sprawling area of Texas and beyond and specialize in immigration detention and enforcement and the money behind it, with a focus on accountability journalism and impact on communities. Must be fluent in Spanish and capable of shooting own photos for coverage.

Salary and Benefits: $55,000-$80,000

Health insurance, at least two weeks of vacation, a company-issued video camera kit and laptop
